Length follows the pattern
Prepare the closure from an agreed continuous format and finish each cut end to the approved work instruction.
MZS-FlexTape™ / Continuous strip construction
Continuous paired strip formats for pattern-led lengths and repeatable OEM assembly.
OEM components · matched A/B constructions · project-specific review
Start with the construction
Work from a continuous strip format when your pattern needs different opening lengths. Specify a matched pair, a suitable carrier and a controlled cutting process instead of treating every garment size as an unrelated closure.
The material family and magnetization pattern determine what is possible. Compare flexible ferrite, bonded rare-earth and other proposed grades against your force, bend, temperature and cost requirements. A material name alone does not establish washability or garment suitability.

Design choices
Prepare the closure from an agreed continuous format and finish each cut end to the approved work instruction.
Specify A/B labels, winding direction and paired-length accounting so that assembly operators can identify the matching sides.
Compare a textile carrier, encapsulation or a qualified adhesive construction against the end-use fabric and process.
Drawing & RFQ inputs
These are the inputs to a sample review. Material, dimensions and acceptance values are confirmed in the agreed drawing and quotation.
| Item | Specify in the brief | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Magnetic compound and carrier or backing | Material selection must fit bending, temperature and environment. |
| Section | Strip width, magnetic thickness and total thickness | Evaluate fabric drape and the resulting magnetic gap. |
| Magnetization | Pole pattern, pitch and A/B orientation | Retain pair direction through cutting and sewing. |
| Roll supply | Roll length, joint policy and paired-unit definition | Confirm whether a quoted metre means one side or one matched pair. |
| Attachment | Sewing carrier, sleeve, laminate or adhesive | Qualify bonding and edge behavior on the actual substrate. |
From a strip to an assembly
Balance closure width and thickness against the seam and the required opening feel.
Check full-length attraction and alignment before cutting an assembly batch.
Follow the approved cut position and exposed-edge protection for that construction.
Record the material, pair marking and integration method against a signed sample.
Buyer questions
Include your preferred roll length in the RFQ. Feasible winding, roll length, joint limits and minimum order are confirmed for the selected section and material; they are not universal catalogue guarantees.
No. The magnetic compound must be stated in the drawing and quotation. Request the material declaration and qualification evidence for the proposed grade.
Only after the adhesive and fabric combination has been qualified. Coatings, plasticizers, surface texture, washing and peel loading can change bond performance.
Compare the same material, width, total thickness, attachment construction and matched A/B unit. Add the end-finishing, packaging and sampling requirements before comparing totals.
